How to choose a loveseat

• Measure the spot. Most loveseats are about 52 to 72 inches wide. In a small Boston-area apartment, a 60 inch model with slim arms gives you more seat for the same wall.
• Plan for recliners. Wall-hugger reclining loveseats need only a few inches behind them; standard recliners may need 12 inches or more to lay back fully.
• Match, do not clone. With a sofa and loveseat set, place them in an L with a corner table, and keep 16 to 18 inches to the coffee table.
